P-1460 WWII War Eagles Colonel Sterling Luxenberg 2 inch This is museum quality reproduction in sterling silver of very rare WWII Colonel Insignia made by Luxenberg, one of the most desirable insignia makers. These are called War Eagles because the head of the eagle is facing the arrows. In official Colonel Insignia the head of the eagle faces the olive branch. You are bidding on a set of two in the large uniform size. These are 2 inch wing span. Here is a chance to own a set of these until you find some originals ones or if you are a re-enactor here is a chance to have the best. It should be noted that War Eagles were no longer authorized after 1926, yet many Colonels continued to wear them.
