CASCA: God of Death #2 by Barry Sadler
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soldier, slave, lord, lover. The Eternal Mercenary had
been all of these in his two and a half centuries of
existence, but nothing he'd encountered was to prepare
him for what he was to experience next. Sailing west
from Helsford, he and his intrepid band of adventuring
Vikings find a strange, foreign land where snakes had
rattles, the swamps contained hideous creatures, and the
warriors took captives to sacrifice on top of their
blood-soaked temples.
Taken prisoner himself, Casca is sacrificed to the savage
gods, but the man who cannot die reclaims his heart and
rises from the altar to become a god himself amongst the
Teotee. But war comes to his people and so Casca must
battle and so becomes a god of death.
